Gillingham NPT Weekly Update 20/08/2026

This week has been all about Partnership Working in Gillingham, we have been working with Housing and also Dorset Council to work through issues that have come about in our area. 

On Wednesday the team did a joint visit in the Gillingham area to an address we believe is being used as an illegal HMO. With the council the checks were made and we were able to safeguard individuals and ensure they are posted in the correct direction. The council are now in contact with the landlord and making the relevant enquiries. Whilst we were inside the address, we seized white powder we believe to be drugs, and an investigation will be ongoing in relation to this. 

PC Ash and PCSO Vicky were visiting an address and neighbours of the address which had the partial closure on it to offer some reassurance and give them an update. We spoke to some of the neighbours about their worries and concerns and will continue our Patrols around the area. 

PCSO Vicky and PC Ash also attended a Community Contact Point (CCP) at the Mole Valley Country Store where we spoke to a few people about issues they have in their local area. PC Brad will at Waitrose, Gillingham on the 27th of August at 11am, please report any issues to him to assist with directing our patrols over the next few weeks. 

This week we have been trying to get round all of the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) hotspots we can. PC Brad and Ash are on over the weekend and will be dedicating their shifts to dealing with ASB in the area. Keep and eye out on social media to find out where they have been. We have been out and have completed around 8 hours of patrols in the local area, on foot and in the vehicle.
